7 New Convenient Clean Eating Products as seen on Arizona Midday
Last month I went to Nashville for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Food and Nutrition Conference and Expo (FNCE), among 10,000 other dietitians. It’s the largest of its kind in the world. This is where the leading food companies reveal their new products for the first time, before they even hit grocery shelves. I shared some of my favorite finds with Arizona Midday.
What was one of your favorite trends?
Beans, beans everywhere! One of my favorite sources of protein.
Better Beans: Refrigerated ready-to-eat beans cooked from scratch, from dried beans. In a variety of delicious flavors.
Love Grown Foods Power O’s: Breakfast cereal made with beans.
What’s new in breakfast?
Oatmeal cups–great for travel! These cups all clock in at about 7-8 g protein, under 300 calories and 7 g fiber.
Bob’s Red Mill Gluten Free Oatmeal Cups
Kashi Overnight Muesli
What’s new in the grain aisle?
Lundberg Sprouted Rice. These whole grains are pre-soaked, so only take 30 minutes to cook, rather than 40 minutes of other whole grain rice. I like to cook these in vegetable or chicken broth for a flavorful side dish. They offer 2-3 g fiber, plus 3-4 g protein.
What’s speedy for lunch?
Dole Take Away Salads: Individual entrée lunch salads complete with a protein, too. Awesome to store in the fridge for a quick lunch, whether you’re at work or home. A complete meal in a little box!
What’s new in beverages?
Natural, low-cal waters.
V8 Infused Water: Campbell’s is rolling out a lot of healthier, more sustainable food products, such as this one.
