DIY Fruit and Veggie Puree Pouches as seen on The ListTV
Fruit and veggie purees have come a long way, baby. Today’s baby food come in a myriad of flavor combos, often sealed up in squeezable pouches. Perfect for little hands! And while purees may have originally been intended for your darling toothless cherub, these pouches are equally perfect for tossing in your diaper bag and your preschooler’s lunch box.
Of course I can’t help myself from trying my own hand at creating these packable pouches. The Infantino Squeeze Station makes easy work of the task, meaning I have easy DIY snacks at the ready for both of my girls. I shared some of my favorite flavor combination with The ListTV–check them out below!
Strawberry, Blueberry, Spinach Pouches
Squeeze this over a serving of plain low fat Greek yogurt for an extra boost of protein in the morning.
1 container strawberries, washed, stemmed, quartered
1 container blueberries, washeda
2 cups spinach
Place all ingredients in food processor until pureed.
Sweet Potato and Apple Pouches
Try serving this as a dip with lean meats, such as chicken or pork tenderloin. The sweet side may entice little palates.
1 medium sweet potato, peeled, diced, heated in microwave until fork tender, about 7 minutes
2 apples, peeled, diced, heated in microwave until fork tender, about 3 minutes
Add about 1/4″ of water to each microwave safe dish and cover. Place ingredients in food processor until pureed.
Mashed Avocado Pouches
Avocado isn’t commonly found in tubes, but babies and toddlers love it. A convenient way to have avocado on the go!
2-3 avocados, mashed
Heaping spoonful of applesauce (optional)
Place mashed avocados in food processor until pureed. Stir in applesauce, if desired.
