Healthy Diet Tips on Vacation July 2015
Summer vacation. It’s one of my favorite times of year, and I’m guessing yours too. But the thing that’s not the favorite of a lot of people this time of year is the inevitable weight gain that comes with vacation. Today I’ll be sharing some of my best diet tips to not gain weight while you’re on vacation.
Veg out
This doesn’t mean lounging around–in fact, take the stairs! Opt for vegetables on the menu, whether is a side dish, a tasty soup, a salad, or a side dish from a new culture or a meatless option. Any of those things are a good thing because vegetables are lower in calories while filling you up.
Bring healthy snacks
Enjoy the local flair while you’re vacationing, but packing your own snacks can help bridge the gap between meals.
– Pistachios
– Roasted chickpea snacks
– Dried fruit (no added sugar). The extra fiber helps keep your gastrointestinal tract on track!
Stay hydrated
I like to bring my reusable water bottle with me wherever I go. It ensures I have fresh, icy cold water with me no matter what. No excuses not to keep drinking!
Foods with high water content also keep you hydrated, such as:
– Melons
– Lettuce
I just back from an eleven day vacation and didn’t gain a pound. These are the tips that I really do follow!
